Show your DiveOps website at your own address, like
www.yourdivecentre.com, instead ofyourname.sites.diveops.ai. You add two records at the company where you bought your domain; DiveOps does the rest, including the padlock (secure certificate).
When you'd use this
- You already own a domain and want your website on it.
- You're replacing an old website on that domain with your DiveOps one.
Before you start
- Only the centre owner can connect a domain.
- Your website needs its free address first (Website → Web address → Free address).
- You need to be able to sign in to the company where you bought your domain (for example Namecheap, GoDaddy, Cloudflare), to change its DNS settings.
- Own domains are being switched on for centres. Until yours is on, the card says Coming soon.
How to connect your domain
- Go to Website and open the Web address tab.
- Under Your own domain, type your domain (for example
yourdivecentre.com) and press Connect domain. We connect it with and withoutwww. - You'll see one or two records, each with Type, Name and Value and a Copy button. At your domain company, open the domain's DNS settings and add each record exactly as shown.
- Back in DiveOps, press Check connection. When it says Connected, your website shows at your domain, with the padlock.
New records usually work within minutes, sometimes up to a day. Press Check connection again later if it's not ready yet.
What happens once it's connected
www.yourdivecentre.comis your website's main address, andyourdivecentre.comgoes to the same place.- Your free address (
yourname.sites.diveops.ai) sends visitors on to your domain, so Google shows one site. - The preview in the builder keeps working as before.
Remove your domain
- On the Web address tab, press Remove domain and confirm.
- Your website goes back to its free address straight away.
- At your domain company, delete the records you added, so they don't point at DiveOps any more.
Tips
- Email isn't affected. Leave any records called MX as they are.
- An existing website on the domain is replaced once your domain is connected. Keep a copy of anything you need from it first.
- In the Name box,
@means the domain itself. Some companies want that box left empty instead. - Want the website on part of your domain only (for example
dive.yourcentre.com)? Type that instead; you'll get one record to add.
Troubleshooting
- Symptom: it still says Waiting for your records. Cause / fix: the records haven't reached the internet yet, or don't match. Check each part matches exactly, wait a little and press Check connection again.
- Symptom: your domain is on Cloudflare and won't connect. Cause / fix: set the records to DNS only (grey cloud), not proxied.
- Symptom: "That domain is already connected to a website or booking page". Cause / fix: it's in use elsewhere in DiveOps (for example as your booking page's own domain). Remove it there first.
- Symptom: Needs attention after it was connected. Cause / fix: a record was changed or deleted at your domain company. Your site stays up for now; put the record back as shown.
