Build your DiveOps website

Last updated 2026-09-24

Get a public website at <yourname>.sites.diveops.ai, built automatically from the courses, dive sites and FAQs already in your dashboard. Choose an address and a look, add a hero image, then publish when you're ready.

When you'd use this

  • You don't have a website yet, or want a simple one that stays up to date on its own.
  • You've already imported your details (see Import from your website) and want to put them online.

Before you start

  • You need the Edit settings permission (owners and managers have it by default).
  • Your courses, dive sites and FAQs should already be in your dashboard. Whatever's marked active there is what shows on the site.

How the builder is laid out

The builder opens full screen: the main menu shrinks to icons (hover over it to open it) and your settings list steps aside, so there's room to edit and see your site side by side. ← Settings at the top left takes you back.

Across the top are five tabs:

  • Pages · the pages your site has, what's on each one, and your menu.
  • Look & feel · template, theme, brand colour, fonts, logo, hero image, favicon and tagline. These apply to the whole site.
  • Content · your team, reviews, blog and guides, your own page text, and writing with AI.
  • Reach · how your site shows up in search, and how many people visit.
  • Leads · where contact-form messages go, and your WhatsApp chat button.

On a laptop or bigger screen your site's live preview sits on the right and reloads after every change. Look & feel changes (template, theme, fonts, tagline) show in the preview straight away, before you save, marked Showing unsaved changes; visitors only see them once you press Save changes. On a smaller screen, press Preview at the top to see it, and Back to editing to return.

Your pages and what's on them

In Pages, click a page to open it:

  • Page settings (top right of the page) changes its name, its web address (for pages you added) and how it shows in Google.
  • The switch at the top shows or hides the whole page. Your home page is always shown.
  • Sections lists what's on the page from top to bottom. Switch one off to hide it, use the up and down arrows (or drag the handle) to move it, and Add a section to add another. Every change saves straight away and the preview on the right jumps to that page.
  • Delete this page (at the bottom) appears on pages you added yourself.

Click a section to open it:

  • Welcome banner · your hero image, its description and your tagline (the same settings as in Look & feel; save them with Save changes).
  • Meet the team · switch on who appears on your website, and use Photo & bio to add each person's photo and a few lines about them (saved to their team record, so Team shows the same).
  • What divers say · add, edit and publish reviews.
  • Your own words · write text for this page.
  • Everything else (courses, dive sites, FAQs, contact details and so on) fills itself from what you already keep in DiveOps. The section shows where it comes from, how much there is (and how many courses or dive sites still need a photo), and a button to go and change it there.

Each section also has its own show/hide switch and Remove from this page. A removed section can be added back with Add a section.

Click Pages above the page name, or your browser's Back button, to go back to the list. Your Menu sits folded under the list: it builds itself from your visible pages, and you only need to open it to customise it.

Set it up

  1. Open Settings → Build your website.
  2. Open the Web address tab (or press the address at the top right) and pick your free address, the part before .sites.diveops.ai. It checks availability as you type. Press Save address. Your own domain can be connected there too (see Use your own domain).
  3. In Look & feel, pick a template and a theme, and add a hero image and tagline if you like.
  4. Press Save changes at the bottom. Changes to the look wait there until you save; switching tabs never loses them.

Templates

Your template sets how the site is laid out. Your pages, which sections they show, their order, and every photo and word stay exactly as you set them when you switch.

Template names describe the layout, not your kind of business, so pick whichever looks right. A template never adds words of its own: the small line above your name is your location (from Centre info), and the buttons read Book now (when your booking page is on) and Get in touch.

  • Banner · a slim menu bar with Book always there, a full-width photo banner showing your lowest price ("Prices from…"), and your courses and dives as a price list with a Book button on each (or Enquire, when your booking page is off).
  • Side by side · your training agency beside your name, your words and photo side by side, and courses as cards grouped by level: Start here, Already certified, Go pro, Fun dives & trips, and More courses. The groups come from each item's category on your Dive Menu (Beginner, Advanced, Specialty, Pro and so on), so set those there to move a course.
  • Full screen · a full-screen photo with the menu bar over it, your places to stay named right under it (when the page shows Where to stay), big photo cards, dive sites told photo by photo, and a single large review.
  • Mosaic · your name centred in the menu bar with the menu on a row underneath, your name in big type, and a grid of up to four of your own photos under it: your hero image first, then dive-site and course photos. Fewer photos? The grid adapts (three, two or one), and with none your name sits in big type on your brand colour. Courses show as compact cards with a small photo, and dive sites as a photo gallery.

Each card in Look & feel → Template shows a small picture of the layout in your theme. No hero photo yet? Every template has a designed version without one.

Your own words

Every heading and button on your site can say what you want. Leave a box empty to use the suggestion shown in it.

  • The top of your site: in Look & feel → Buttons and top line (or open Pages → Home → Welcome banner), change the small line above your name (your location by default), and the wording of your booking and contact buttons. The same buttons show in the menu bar and on phones.
  • A section's heading: open Pages, a page, then a section. Under Words, change its heading and add a short line under it. Each page keeps its own, so your Courses heading on the home page can differ from the one on the Courses page.
  • Small labels your template shows: for example "Prices from" on Banner, "Where to stay" on Full screen, or the course group names (Start here, Go pro...) on Side by side. They appear with the fields they belong to.

Type straight into the preview. Point at any of your own words in the preview (a heading, the line above your name, your tagline, a button) and it says Click to edit. Click, type, then press Enter to finish or Esc to undo. Empty lines show a faint prompt (for example Add a line above your name) so you can fill them; visitors never see the prompt. With a keyboard, press Tab to move between your words and Enter to edit one. Point at anything that comes from elsewhere in DiveOps (a course, a dive site, your centre name) and it says where it comes from; click it and that section opens in the side panel with a link to where it's edited.

Words wait with your other changes until you press Save changes, and the preview shows them as you type. Course names, prices, FAQs, your team and other details come from the rest of DiveOps: change them there and your website updates too.

Themes

Your theme sets how the whole site feels: its colours, corners, cards, buttons and fonts. There are six:

  • Lagoon · bright and friendly. White and pale aqua, soft rounded cards.
  • Abyss · deep and premium. Navy-black with fine lines.
  • Sandbar · warm and editorial, like a resort brochure. Serif headings.
  • Coral · bold and energetic. Big type, punchy colour blocks.
  • Logbook · heritage and trusted. Cream paper, ruled lines, classic serif.
  • Mono · minimal and photo-first. Black and white, sharp corners.

Each card in Look & feel → Theme shows a small picture of the theme, drawn with your brand colour. Your brand colour (set once in Settings → Branding) fills the buttons, links and prices in every theme, and is adjusted where needed so it always stays readable. Each theme comes with its own fonts; pick a different pairing under Fonts if you prefer.

Text on your brand colour (buttons, the banner) is black or white, whichever reads clearer on that colour, worked out automatically. Your logo is shown to suit the background too: a one-colour dark logo turns white on dark backgrounds and over photos, and a colourful logo sits on a small light circle there. If your logo still looks wrong, save it again in Logo (or Settings → Centre info) so it's checked afresh.

If your site used one of the earlier themes, it moved to the closest new one: Reef, Lagoon and Forest became Lagoon, Deep and Midnight became Abyss, Coast and Sand became Sandbar, and Slate became Mono.

Publish

Press Publish (top right). Your site goes live at your address straight away and the status turns to Live. To take it down, open the Web address tab and choose Take offline. Nothing is deleted; publish again whenever you like. Publish is greyed out until you've chosen an address and saved your changes.

What's on the site

Your pages (Home, Courses, Dive sites, FAQs, Contact, plus any you add), built from your courses and activities, dive sites, FAQs and contact details. It reads live from your dashboard, so updating a course or FAQ there updates the website too.

Photos on course and dive-site cards. Add a photo to a course in Dive Menu or to a site in Dive Sites and it shows on that card. Courses synced from SSI bring their course picture with them. If some cards in a section have a photo and others don't, the ones without get a tile in your brand colour with a small icon, so the grid stays even. If no card in a section has a photo, that section shows text only. Photos are resized when you upload them, so large files are fine. The How your website appears in search card in the website builder tells you how many courses and dive sites still need a photo.

Troubleshooting

  • Symptom: the address field says "already taken". Cause / fix: someone else has that address — choose another.
  • Symptom: the Publish button is greyed out. Cause / fix: save your changes first, and make sure you've chosen an address (Web address tab).
  • Symptom: a card shows a coloured tile with an icon instead of a photo. Cause / fix: that course or dive site has no photo yet. Add one in Dive Menu or Dive Sites.
  • Symptom: a section says "No … yet, so this section stays hidden on your site". Cause / fix: there's nothing to show yet. Use its button to add some where that information lives.
  • Symptom: the site looks sparse. Cause / fix: it only shows what's active in your dashboard — add courses, dive sites or FAQs there and the site picks them up automatically.
