Connecting your WhatsApp number

This connects your WhatsApp Business number to DiveOps so the bot can receive and reply to customer messages. You connect through Facebook in a few clicks.

When you'd use this

  • Onboarding your centre.
  • Switching to a new WhatsApp Business number.

Connecting (Connection tab)

  1. Go to Settings → WhatsApp Setup.
  2. Choose your path:
    • Connect existing WhatsApp Business number (Recommended) — press Connect via Facebook and follow the Facebook popup to link your current number (Coexistence mode keeps it working in the WhatsApp app too).
    • Set up a new Cloud API number — press Set up new number.
  3. On success you'll see "Connected: {number}". A Disconnect link is there if you ever need it.

Message templates (Templates tab)

  • The Templates tab manages the pre-approved WhatsApp message templates Meta requires for certain outbound messages — list, create and check approval status.

Tips

  • 🔴 Never delete a WhatsApp Business Account (WABA) — the number goes into a 1–2 month cooldown with Meta.
  • The manual connection fields (WhatsApp Number, Phone Number ID, WABA ID) are usually filled by the DiveOps team; most staff see them read-only.
  • After connecting, send a test message and confirm it lands in your Inbox.

Troubleshooting

  • Messages aren't arriving: confirm the connection shows "Connected", then contact support.
