Bot Cleanup — approve fixes for out-of-date information

Last updated Sat Jul 25 2026 00:00:00 GMT+0000 (Coordinated Universal Time)

Every night DiveOps re-reads your setup and lists anything that looks out of date, contradictory or missing — the sort of thing that makes your bot give a wrong answer. Where we can work out the fix, you can apply it in one click. Nothing changes until you approve it.

The two kinds of item

The list is split into two groups so you always know what's being asked of you:

  • Suggested fixes — we worked out the correct value, so there's an Approve & apply button. Review it (you can edit it first) and apply it in one click.
  • Worth checking — two parts of your setup disagree and only you can say which is right (for example a trip description saying different days from your schedule). There's no automatic fix, so these link you to the right editor and you mark them done once sorted. This is what the old Bot alerts screen used to show — it now lives here.

When you'd use this

  • A price written in a service's Bot Tips no longer matches the price on the service itself.
  • An FAQ or your centre description gives a different opening time from your opening hours.
  • An FAQ still says a trip or boat is unavailable, but it's back on your schedule.
  • A room or accommodation option has no booking link and no note on how to book it.
  • Two FAQs answer the same question in different ways.
  • A course timetable has two things booked at the same time.
  • Your age policy gives one minimum age for an activity and the course itself gives another.
  • Your centre information says something isn't included in the price while your courses list it as included.

Before you start

  • You need permission to edit settings (owner or manager). Anyone can view the list; only a settings editor sees the Approve and Dismiss buttons.
  • Find it at Settings → About your bot → Bot Cleanup.

How to approve a fix

  1. Open Settings → Bot Cleanup. Each card explains, in plain English, what looks wrong and shows both pieces of information that disagree.
  2. On a card that has a one-click fix, press Approve & apply.
  3. A box opens showing the new value. You can edit it first if you'd rather change it to something else.
  4. Press Apply fix. DiveOps updates your setup straight away — exactly as if you'd edited it yourself — and the card moves to the done list.

How to fix something yourself

Some cards don't have a one-click fix — for example when it's not clear which of two things is correct. These show a link like Fix in FAQs or Fix opening hours instead of an Approve button.

These cards exist because two parts of your setup disagree, so each one gives you a link to every place it could be wrong — a card comparing your opening hours with an FAQ offers both Fix opening hours and Fix in FAQs, and one comparing a trip description with your schedule offers both Fix in Dive Menu and Fix in Dive Schedule. Change whichever is out of date; you don't have to change both.

When both quotes come from the same entry — for example a course timetable that clashes with itself — the card says "Both of these are in the same entry, so there is one place to fix them" and gives you a single link.

  1. Press the link to jump to the right editor.
  2. Correct the information at the source and save.
  3. The card clears on the next nightly check once the two sides agree again.

How to dismiss a suggestion

  1. Press Dismiss on the card, then confirm.
  2. It won't be raised again unless the underlying information changes. If you dismiss something and later the data shifts, it comes back so you can look again.

How you'll know there's something to look at

  • When the nightly check finds something new, a note appears in the bell at the top of the dashboard, under Updates.
  • Click it to jump straight here. Click OK to clear it from the bell — it stays in your Notifications log (open the bell and choose See all notifications) so you always have a record of what was flagged and when.

Tips

  • Nothing is ever changed automatically. Approving is the only thing that edits your setup, and you can edit the value before it applies.
  • A suggestion counts how many times your bot has hit the problem, so the ones costing you the most conversations rise to the top.
  • To bring back something you approved or dismissed, open Show done & dismissed and press Reopen.
  • If the list is empty, your setup looks consistent — there's nothing to do.
