Dive centres in Costa Rica

What should a dive centre in Costa Rica run on?

Most Costa Rican diving is on the Pacific: the Catalina and Bat Islands off Guanacaste, Caño Island off the Osa Peninsula, and, far offshore, Cocos Island. Each runs to its own rules and its own weather. DiveOps keeps the trips, the divers and the paperwork for them in one login.

The short answer

DiveOps suits Costa Rican dive centres from Playas del Coco to Drake Bay: it plans Pacific boat days around the weather, holds each diver's details for park reservations, checks certification and medical before the boat, and runs gear, payroll and US-dollar sales, with a 24/7 WhatsApp AI front desk in Spanish and English.

A dive centre's DiveOps booking page: the diver enters their details and picks a date from a calendar that shows which days still have spaces. (opens full size in a new tab)

Guanacaste: the Catalinas and the Bat Islands

From Playas del Coco, Flamingo and Tamarindo, day boats run to the Catalina Islands for giant mantas and to the Bat Islands (Islas Murciélago) in the far north for bull sharks. In the dry season the Papagayo winds bring cooler, greener water and stronger currents, and the longer northern trips run only when the sea allows.

DiveOps lets a centre plan the season once, with a fallback site for each day and live weather and tide for your exact spot. The advanced trips are sold with their own spaces, and each diver's certification is checked on the booking before they board.

Caño Island: reservations and registered guides

The Caño Island Biological Reserve, reached by boat from Drake Bay, Uvita or Sierpe, protects one of the largest coral reef systems on Costa Rica's Pacific coast. SINAC, the national conservation system, asks for a prepaid reservation for each visitor, and visitors enter with a local guide or diver registered with the Osa conservation area's tourism programme.

DiveOps collects each diver's full name, details and medical form on their phone before they arrive, so the reservation list for the park is ready from the booking, and the staff roster shows which registered guide is on which boat.

Cocos Island, sold as dated trips

Cocos Island National Park lies hundreds of kilometres offshore and is reached only by sea, on specialised liveaboards. DiveOps is built for day-boat and shore centres and does not run liveaboards, but a centre that books its divers onto a Cocos trip can list each one as a dated trip on its booking page, with its own spaces and price.

A 24/7 WhatsApp front desk in Spanish and English

Costa Rica's divers come from the US, Canada and Europe, plus Costa Ricans on holiday, and enquiries arrive in English and Spanish at all hours. DiveOps' WhatsApp AI answers on your centre's own number through the official Meta Business API, in the diver's language. It replies in under 2 minutes, handles around 92% of routine questions itself and sends your booking link. A person at the centre confirms every booking and takes over any chat that needs one.

US dollars, payments and one plan

Many Costa Rican dive centres price for visitors in US dollars, and DiveOps runs bookings, the shop till, payroll and reports in them today. If you need colones, ask us about it on your demo. Payments can be taken by payment link with PayPal where available, or recorded at the desk, and centres get roughly 8 hours a week of admin back.

DiveOps is one plan with every feature, priced by the number of divers you run through the year. Book a demo and see it set up against your own boats, sites and guides.

Questions, answered.

Does DiveOps make the Caño Island reservation with SINAC for us?

No. Reservations are made with SINAC. DiveOps collects each diver's details and medical form before they arrive, so the names you need for the reservation are ready on the booking.

Can we plan around the Papagayo winds?

Yes. A season plan holds the site for each day with a fallback, and live weather and tide for your spot sit next to it, so a change is quick.

Does it work in colones?

DiveOps runs each centre in one currency. You can price in US dollars today; ask us about colones on your demo.

How much does DiveOps cost for a dive centre in Costa Rica?

One plan with every feature, priced by the number of divers you run through the year. The pricing page has the details, or book a demo for a figure against your own numbers.
