Dive centres in Honduras

What should a dive centre on Roatán or Utila run on?

The Bay Islands of Honduras sit on the Mesoamerican Reef and run two very different dive businesses: Utila's high-volume training shops and Roatán's resort and cruise-day boats. DiveOps runs either from one login, from the first WhatsApp message to the instructor's commission.

The short answer

DiveOps suits Bay Islands dive shops on Roatán and Utila: it tracks every student from first pool session to certification, plans the day's boats by group and instructor, works out instructor commission in payroll, and runs bookings, gear, beds and US-dollar sales, with a 24/7 WhatsApp AI front desk.

Utila: a training island

Utila is known for affordable courses and Divemaster training, with whale sharks seen off the north side and the Halliburton wreck close to town. Many shops sell a bed with the course, and a busy week means several Open Water groups, an Advanced group and Divemaster trainees all moving at once.

DiveOps tracks every student from pool session to sign-off, with progress per diver and an alert the moment a group needs an instructor. Beds can be booked alongside the dives on one bill with the accommodation add-on.

Roatán: walls, wrecks and cruise-ship days

Roatán's centres work the walls and wrecks off West End and West Bay, from the El Aguila wreck to the cracks of Mary's Place, for resort guests and for cruise passengers in port for the day. A cruise diver has a fixed window and books ahead, so the last space on the boat has to be real.

Your booking page shows live spaces, so a place is never sold twice. Hotels and travel agents can have their own booking link and QR code, and you pay commission only on divers who book.

Inside the Bay Islands National Marine Park

The Bay Islands National Marine Park, created in 2010, covers the waters around the islands, and community groups such as the Roatán Marine Park run patrols, monitoring and reef restoration. The water stays warm, around 26°C to 30°C, all year, while winter northers can blow out the north side for a few days at a time.

DiveOps keeps one library of your sites, plans the season with a fallback site for each day, and records the site for every trip, so a blown-out morning is a quick change rather than a rewrite of the whole day.

A 24/7 WhatsApp front desk, in English and Spanish

Backpackers travelling through Central America and divers from the US and Canada message at all hours, in English, Spanish and more. DiveOps' WhatsApp AI answers on your centre's own number through the official Meta Business API, replies in under 2 minutes, handles around 92% of routine questions itself and sends your booking link. A person at the shop takes over any chat that needs one.

US dollars and commission, worked out

Bay Islands shops mostly price in US dollars, and DiveOps runs bookings, the shop till, payroll and reports in them. Payroll works out each instructor's course commission on their own rate, a course split across two instructors divides itself, and centres get roughly 8 hours a week of admin back.

DiveOps is one plan with every feature, priced by the number of divers you run through the year. Book a demo and see it set up against your own courses and boats.

Questions, answered.

Can DiveOps handle a high-volume training shop like the ones on Utila?

Yes. Dive groups track every student from pool session to sign-off, with progress per diver and an alert when a group needs an instructor, and payroll works out each instructor's commission from the courses they ran.

Can we sell a bed with a course?

Yes, with the accommodation add-on. Rooms and beds are booked alongside the dives and paid on one bill.

Does it work in US dollars?

Yes. Prices, the shop till, payroll and reports run in US dollars, the currency most Bay Islands dive shops price in.

How much does DiveOps cost for a dive shop in Honduras?

One plan with every feature, priced by the number of divers you run through the year. The pricing page has the details, or book a demo for a figure against your own numbers.
