Dive centres in Canada

What should a dive centre in Canada run on?

Canadian diving is cold-water diving: wrecks in the Great Lakes, the Pacific off Vancouver Island, the St Lawrence and the Newfoundland coast. Most shops teach in a pool all winter and pack their open-water days into a short summer. DiveOps runs the courses, the kit, the boats and the shop from one login.

The short answer

DiveOps suits Canadian dive shops, from Great Lakes wreck charters to Pacific cold-water diving: it runs courses through a short open-water season, tracks drysuits and cylinders as rentals, plans charters by boat and diver, takes card payments through Stripe, and answers every enquiry with a 24/7 WhatsApp AI front desk.

Tobermory and the Great Lakes wrecks

Fathom Five National Marine Park at Tobermory, Ontario, protects more than 20 historic shipwrecks, and Parks Canada asks every diver to register and buy a dive pass before diving, at the visitor centre or the dive shop in town. Charters run through the summer, with a mix of club groups, students and visiting divers.

DiveOps builds each charter's trip sheet from the bookings, holds each diver's certification and medical form on the booking, filled in on their phone before they arrive, so the crew knows who is diving before the boat leaves.

Pacific, St Lawrence and Atlantic diving

On the Pacific, Vancouver Island's cold, plankton-rich water is known for giant Pacific octopus, wolf eels and dense invertebrate walls, with the Port Hardy area as a draw. Quebec has the St Lawrence at Les Escoumins, and Newfoundland has the Second World War wrecks off Bell Island.

DiveOps keeps one library of your sites and lets you plan the season once, with a fallback site for each day and live weather and tide for your exact spot.

Pool courses, drysuits and the kit room

A Canadian shop teaches pool sessions through the winter and moves students to open water when the season opens, often with a drysuit course alongside. DiveOps tracks every student from pool session to sign-off, whichever agency you teach under, from SSI and PADI to RAID and SDI/TDI.

Drysuits, undersuits, hoods and cylinders are added to the booking as rentals, priced and returned without paper, and the kit room logs who took what with a warning when something is overdue. The shop till sells gear and servicing with stock updated as you sell.

English, French and a 24/7 WhatsApp front desk

Enquiries come in English and, in Quebec and beyond, French, often in the evening after work. DiveOps' WhatsApp AI answers on your centre's own number through the official Meta Business API, in the diver's language. It replies in under 2 minutes, handles around 92% of routine questions itself and sends your booking link. A person at the shop confirms every booking and takes over any chat that needs one.

Card payments, currency and one plan

Stripe is available to businesses in Canada, and card payments go through your own Stripe account, which can mean card fees up to 20% lower than a typical terminal (never guaranteed; it depends on your current processor). DiveOps runs each centre in one currency: you can price in US dollars or euros today, and if you price in Canadian dollars, ask us about it on your demo. Centres get roughly 8 hours a week of admin back.

DiveOps is one plan with every feature, priced by the number of divers you run through the year. Book a demo and see it set up against your own courses, kit and charters.

Questions, answered.

Can DiveOps rent out drysuits and track them?

Yes. Drysuits and the rest of the kit are added to the booking as rentals, and the kit room logs who took what, with a warning when something is overdue.

Does it register our divers with Parks Canada at Fathom Five?

No. Divers register and buy their pass through Parks Canada. DiveOps keeps each diver's certification and medical on the booking, so your own records are in one place.

Does it work in Canadian dollars?

Each centre runs in one currency. You can price in US dollars or euros today; ask us about Canadian dollars on your demo.

How much does DiveOps cost for a dive shop in Canada?

One plan with every feature, priced by the number of divers you run through the year. The pricing page has the details, or book a demo for a figure against your own numbers.
