The guided tutorials and setup checklist

In-app help for learning DiveOps: a guided tour of the whole dashboard, a detailed tour of whatever page you are on, and a checklist that walks you through setting your centre up.

When you'd use this

  • You (or a new staff member) have just logged in for the first time.
  • You want a quick reminder of where things are, or a detailed walkthrough of one page.
  • You're setting up a brand-new centre and want a clear order to work through.

The Help menu

Everything is reached from the Help button in the top bar (the ? next to Report a bug). It is in the same place on every page and offers two things:

  • Tour this page - a detailed walkthrough of the page you are currently on, pointing out its buttons, filters and panels one at a time. If a page does not have a tour yet, this option is greyed out.
  • Full guided tour - the overview tour that walks down the whole sidebar, explaining what each area does and how they connect (for example, bookings flow into dive groups, which appear on the trip sheet).

The overview tour

A short spotlight walkthrough of the sidebar, explaining each area in order.

  • It starts automatically the first time you log in (if your centre has it switched on).
  • Click Next to move on, Back to go back, or close it any time - you won't be forced through it.
  • Run it again any time from Help -> Full guided tour.

Page tours

Most pages have their own detailed tour. Open the page, then choose Help -> Tour this page to be walked through that page's features. Use these whenever you reach a part of the product you don't know well.

The setup checklist

A card on the Overview page titled Get your centre set up. It lists the key things to do, and ticks each one off automatically as you add the data:

  1. Add your dive sites
  2. Build your dive menu
  3. Set your dive schedule
  4. Add your team
  5. Teach your bot (FAQs and rules)

Click any item to jump straight to the right page. When you're finished — or if you don't need it — click the × to dismiss it. It won't come back once dismissed.

Turning them on or off

Both are controlled per centre in Settings → Guided Help:

  • Guided tour — on/off for the auto-starting walkthrough.
  • Setup checklist — on/off for the Overview card.

Changes take effect next time the page loads. They're off by default for established centres so the tour never surprises your team mid-shift; switch them on when you want them.

Tips

  • The tour only points at things your role can see — anything you don't have access to is skipped automatically.
  • Help -> Full guided tour always works, even after you've finished the tour once.

Troubleshooting

  • Symptom: the tour didn't auto-start → Cause / fix: it only auto-starts once per person, and only when switched on in Settings → Guided Help. Use Help → Full guided tour in the top bar to run it manually.
  • Symptom: a checklist item won't tick → Cause / fix: it ticks once there's at least one entry of that type for your centre. Add one item and reload.
