Dive centres in Malta

What should a dive centre in Malta run on?

Malta diving is mostly shore diving, year round, across three islands, with visitors from all over Europe and a regulator that expects a signed record of every dive. DiveOps runs that whole day from one login, and keeps the dive log as you go rather than at the end of it.

The short answer

DiveOps is dive centre software with a signed Dive Log built for Malta's Reg 18: one sheet per instructor per day, countersigned by the Director of Diving and printable for an inspection. It also runs bookings, shore and boat dives, gear, euro payments and a 24/7 WhatsApp AI front desk.

The DiveOps Dive Log: a signed per-dive record with the site, sea conditions, each diver's gas and air in and out, and the risk assessment and briefing checks. (opens full size in a new tab)

A signed Dive Log for Reg 18, without the paper folder

Malta's diving rules expect a signed record of each training and guided dive, countersigned and kept for inspection. The DiveOps Dive Log is laid out like the paper sheet: one sheet per instructor or guide per day, a tab for each dive, the divers filled in from the bookings with their certification, cylinder and gas, the site risk assessment and briefing checks, then air out and an OK for each diver after the dive.

The instructor signs the plan and the dive, and the Director of Diving countersigns the sheet, which then locks. When an inspector asks, print any day as a PDF in the paper layout, or export up to two years to Excel. The Dive Log is switched on with us for centres in Malta.

Shore dives, boat dives and three islands

Most Maltese diving starts from the shore: the Blue Hole and Inland Sea at Dwejra on Gozo, the P29 and Rozi wrecks at Ċirkewwa, the Um El Faroud off Wied iż-Żurrieq, with boat days out to Comino's caves and the HMS Maori off Valletta. One day can mix a van of fun divers, an Open Water group in a sheltered bay and a boat trip.

DiveOps groups each day's divers by outing, course and instructor, keeps gear and cylinders against each diver, and records the vehicle on the dive log, so the plan, the kit list and the signed record all come from the same place.

Year-round courses for visitors from all over Europe

Water runs from around 15°C in winter to the mid-20s in late summer, so Malta teaches all year, with divers flying in from the UK, Germany, Italy, Scandinavia and beyond. DiveOps tracks each student's course progress to instructor sign-off, whichever agency you teach under, from SSI and PADI to BSAC and CMAS.

Divers fill in their details and medical form on their phone before they arrive, so the morning briefing is not spent on clipboards.

A 24/7 WhatsApp front desk in the diver's language

Visitors message from home, in the evening and in their own language, often to ask about conditions on the north or south coast. DiveOps' WhatsApp AI answers on your centre's own number through the official Meta Business API, replies in under 2 minutes, handles around 92% of routine questions itself and sends your booking link. A person at the centre takes over any chat that needs one.

Euros, EU card rates and one login

Bookings, the shop till, payroll and reports run in euros. Card payments go through your own Stripe account at EU rates, which can mean card fees up to 20% lower than a typical terminal (never guaranteed; it depends on your current processor), and centres get roughly 8 hours a week of admin back.

DiveOps is one plan with every feature, priced by the number of divers you run through the year. Book a demo and see it set up against your own sites, courses and staff.
