Dive centres in Italy

What should a dive centre in Italy run on?

Italy has thousands of kilometres of coast, dozens of marine protected areas and a short, busy summer when every boat fills at once. DiveOps keeps the bookings, the boats, the team and the money for an Italian centre in one login, so the high season runs on a plan rather than a notebook.

The short answer

DiveOps suits Italian dive centres from Liguria to Sicily: a 24/7 WhatsApp AI front desk answers divers in Italian, German or English and sends your booking link, and the same login runs boats and trip sheets, courses, gear and cylinders, the shop till and euro payments through your own Stripe account.

Marine protected areas and authorised dive centres

Much of Italy's best diving sits inside an area marina protetta. The Ministry of the Environment creates each one by decree and hands its management to a local body, which sets the rules for what is allowed and where. At Portofino, guided dives in the protected area are run by dive centres authorised by the managing consortium, and the Christ of the Abyss statue at San Fruttuoso is one of the best-known dives in the country.

DiveOps keeps each site on every trip, the divers on board with their checked certification, and the guide who led them, so a centre can show the protected area exactly who it took where.

From Ligurian wrecks to the islands of the south

Italian diving changes a lot from north to south: the Haven wreck off Arenzano near Genoa, the granite of Elba and Giglio, Tavolara and Capo Carbonara in Sardinia, the Egadi Islands, Ustica and Lampedusa off Sicily, and the submerged Roman town at Baia near Naples. Water runs from around 14°C in winter to the mid-20s in August, so most centres teach and guide from spring to autumn.

DiveOps plans each day's boats from the bookings, with each diver's group, guide and kit on one trip sheet, and tracks gear and cylinders against every diver so nothing leaves the shop without a name on it.

Courses under whichever agency you teach

Italian centres teach under SSI, PADI, CMAS and other agencies, often more than one in the same building. DiveOps tracks each student from first session to instructor sign-off and keeps the certification on the diver's record, whichever agency issued it.

Divers fill in their details and medical form on their phone before they arrive, so the morning is spent on the briefing, not on paperwork.

A 24/7 WhatsApp front desk for a holiday crowd

Summer enquiries arrive in Italian from domestic divers and in German, English and French from visitors, often late in the evening. DiveOps' WhatsApp AI answers on your centre's own number through the official Meta Business API, replies in under 2 minutes in the diver's language, handles around 92% of routine questions itself and sends your booking link. A person at the centre confirms every booking and can take over any chat.

Euros, EU card rates and one plan

Prices, payments, the shop till, staff rosters, payroll, reports and double-entry books all run in euros. Card payments go through your own Stripe account, which can mean card fees up to 20% lower than a typical terminal (never guaranteed; it depends on your current processor), and centres get roughly 8 hours a week of admin back.

DiveOps is one plan with every feature, priced by the number of divers you run through the year. Book a demo and see it set up against your own boats, sites and courses.

Questions, answered.

Does the WhatsApp AI answer in Italian?

Yes. It replies in the language the diver writes in, including Italian, German, English and French, on your centre's own WhatsApp number, and hands any chat to your team when a person is needed.

Does DiveOps handle marine protected area authorisations?

No. Authorisations come from the body that manages each protected area. DiveOps keeps the site, the divers and the guide for every trip, so the centre's own records are easy to find when they are asked for.

Does it work in euros?

Yes. Prices, payments, the shop till, payroll and reports all run in euros, with card payments through your own Stripe account.

How much does DiveOps cost for a dive centre in Italy?

One plan with every feature, priced by the number of divers you run through the year. The pricing page has the details, or book a demo for a figure against your own numbers.
