Dive centres in Ecuador

What should a dive centre in Ecuador run on?

Ecuador's diving is the Galápagos Marine Reserve, one of the largest marine reserves in the world, where day boats leave Santa Cruz and San Cristóbal for sites with hammerheads, sea lions and marine iguanas. DiveOps runs those day boats, and the shop, staff and books behind them, from one login.

The short answer

DiveOps suits Galápagos day-boat dive centres in Puerto Ayora and San Cristóbal, and mainland shops on the coast: it checks each diver's certification and medical before the boat, plans trips by site and guide across cold and warm seasons, and runs gear, payroll and US-dollar sales, with a 24/7 WhatsApp AI front desk.

Day boats inside the Galápagos Marine Reserve

The Galápagos Marine Reserve covers around 143,000 square kilometres around the islands. Day-boat centres in Puerto Ayora on Santa Cruz run to Gordon Rocks and North Seymour, and centres on San Cristóbal run to Kicker Rock (León Dormido). Tourism businesses work under operating permits from the Galápagos National Park, and naturalist guides hold park licences.

DiveOps keeps each guide's licence on file with a warning before it lapses, and the roster shows who is on which boat. Each day's trip sheet is built from the bookings, and the crew sees the same plan as the shop.

Strong currents and the right divers on the right boat

Sites such as Gordon Rocks have strong currents and suit experienced divers, while others are gentle enough for a first ocean dive. Getting the right diver on the right boat matters more here than almost anywhere.

Divers fill in their details, certification and medical form on their phone before they arrive, and a checked certification records who checked it and when. Advanced trips are sold with their own spaces and price, so the booking page only offers them as a separate trip.

Two seasons and the mainland coast

The Galápagos has a warm season from about December to May and a cooler, cloudier season from about June to November, when the Humboldt Current brings colder water and more plankton. On the mainland, Puerto López and Isla de la Plata in Machalilla National Park draw divers, with humpback whales off the coast in the southern winter.

DiveOps lets a centre plan the season once, with a fallback site for each day and live weather and tide for your exact spot. A centre that books divers onto a Darwin and Wolf liveaboard can list each one as a dated trip with its own spaces and price.

A 24/7 WhatsApp front desk

Galápagos divers plan from the US, Europe and mainland Ecuador, often months ahead and in different time zones, in English, Spanish, German and more. DiveOps' WhatsApp AI answers on your centre's own number through the official Meta Business API, in the diver's language. It replies in under 2 minutes, handles around 92% of routine questions itself and sends your booking link. A person at the centre confirms every booking and takes over any chat that needs one.

US dollars, payments and one plan

Ecuador uses the US dollar, and DiveOps runs bookings, the shop till, payroll and reports in it. Payments can be taken by payment link with PayPal where available, or recorded at the desk, and centres get roughly 8 hours a week of admin back.

DiveOps is one plan with every feature, priced by the number of divers you run through the year. Book a demo and see it set up against your own boats, sites and guides.

Questions, answered.

Does DiveOps handle Galápagos National Park permits?

No. Operating permits and guide licences come from the Galápagos National Park. DiveOps keeps each guide's licence on file with an expiry warning, and keeps the divers, their certification and their medical on each trip.

Can we keep beginners off the advanced sites?

Yes. Advanced trips are sold separately with their own spaces, and each diver's certification is checked and recorded on the booking before they board.

Does it work in US dollars?

Yes. Ecuador uses the US dollar, and prices, the shop till, payroll and reports all run in it.

How much does DiveOps cost for a dive centre in Ecuador?

One plan with every feature, priced by the number of divers you run through the year. The pricing page has the details, or book a demo for a figure against your own numbers.
