Dive centres in Zanzibar and Tanzania

What should a dive centre in Zanzibar or Mafia run on?

Diving in Tanzania is island diving: Mnemba Atoll off Zanzibar, the walls of the Pemba Channel and the marine park around Mafia. Many divers arrive straight from a safari with only a few days to spare. DiveOps runs that busy, short-stay operation from one login.

The short answer

DiveOps suits Tanzanian dive centres on Zanzibar, Pemba and Mafia: it builds each boat's trip sheet from the bookings, keeps every diver's certification and medical on file, tracks courses, gear and cylinders, and runs a 24/7 WhatsApp AI front desk that answers in the diver's language and sends your booking link.

Mnemba, Pemba and the Zanzibar conservation areas

Most Zanzibar centres dive Mnemba Atoll off the north-east coast, with reefs and wrecks around Nungwi and Stone Town and the steep walls and currents of the Pemba Channel further north. Zanzibar's Ministry of Blue Economy and Fisheries charges entry fees for its marine conservation areas, revised in September 2025.

DiveOps does not collect those fees. It keeps every diver and every day on the bookings, so the trip sheet for each boat shows who is going out, with their certification and kit, before the boat leaves the beach.

Mafia Island and the whale shark season

Mafia Island Marine Park, around Chole Bay, is known for quiet reefs and for whale sharks off Kilindoni, most often from around October to February. The long rains, roughly April and May, slow most of the coast.

DiveOps sells seasonal trips, such as a whale shark snorkel or a Pemba day, as dated trips on your booking page with their own spaces and price.

Safari travellers and a 24/7 WhatsApp front desk

Divers write from a safari camp or before they fly, from the UK, Italy, Germany, Scandinavia, Poland and beyond, in English or their own language. DiveOps' WhatsApp AI answers on your centre's own number through the official Meta Business API, replies in under 2 minutes, handles around 92% of routine questions itself and sends your booking link. A person at the centre confirms every booking and takes over any chat that needs one.

Courses, medicals and gear in warm water

The water stays around 25°C to 29°C all year, so Zanzibar trains plenty of new divers on short stays. Divers fill in their details and medical form on their phone before they arrive, DiveOps tracks each student's course to sign-off, whichever agency you teach under, from SSI and PADI to RAID, and logs gear and cylinders against each diver.

Your currency, payments and one plan

DiveOps runs each centre in one currency, set when you join. A centre in Tanzania can price in US dollars, as many already do, or euros today; ask about Tanzanian shillings on your demo. Payments can be taken by payment link with PayPal where it is available to you, or recorded at the desk, and the shop till, staff rosters, payroll, reports and double-entry books sit in the same login. Centres get roughly 8 hours a week of admin back.

DiveOps is one plan with every feature, priced by the number of divers you run through the year. Book a demo and see it set up against your own boats, sites and team.
